Dusk Over Drew Harbour
Quadra Island, BC
25 x 45 in
Oil on canvas

Upside down images of trees reflecting down into the waters offer so much potential for graphic effects. The weather on this day made them particularly moody, with shots of the sky colour emerging through the branches. Late in the day, slightly overcast, the trees seem to lurk on the water, their image broken only slightly by gentle wind on the water in the bay.

“My soul is full of longing for the secret of the sea,

and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me.”

- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
