Floating Jewels
Vaseau Lake, BC
36 x 36 in
Oil on Canvas

It is a fascinating challenge to capture the sense of sky reflected in water, with the clouds floating upside down against the blue. Floating leaves add colour and another level of depth in the mix - they exist on a different plane, both physically and symbolically. These floating jewels move around against the sky backdrop, solid and independent from the soft and ephemeral reflection that supports them.
