Inglewood Colour
Inglewood Conservation Area, Calgary, AB
36 x 36 in
Oil on canvas

On a bright autumn day, the colour of the cottonwood leaves reflected in the water is almost too intense to look at! It appears as molten gold spread on the calm surface of the lagoon. The too-perfect image in the still surface of the water was suddenly broken by the appearance of the local beaver – adding the expanding pattern of ripples to mark its passage.

“Glory is like a circle in the water, Which never ceaseth to enlarge itself,

Till by broad spreading it disperse to nought.”

William Shakespeare
