Book and Note Cards |
This is one of my most exciting projects at the moment! I have a book about the water series – images of the paintings and some short, thoughtful essays on the subject of water. As we are doing on this web site, the book includes photographs taken in the location which inspired each of the paintings. It has been fun to go back through my old photographs and re-visit these trips as I selected the images!

| New Book - West on One: The Stories Behind The Scenery |
|
I am very excited to announce the publication of my new book, West on One: The Stories Behind the Scenery! This book is the main reason that I have not been posting any new paintings recently – it has consumed my attention for the last year – and now it is done!
Briefly, West on One explores (in text and illustrations) the region west from Calgary along the Trans-Canada Highway into the mountains as far as Lake Louise. It tells the stories of early exploration of the west, the first homesteaders, industrial development, communities along the way, the Stoney Nakoda reserve with its rich native history and culture, some basic geology, the animal life that might be glimpsed along the road and the formation of a national park.
Whew – no wonder it occupied all of my time! I am very proud of how it has turned out and hope you will check it out. Click here for more information!
