Oil on canvas

The changing seasons brings out so much colour in this type of habitat – the deep blue of the reflected sky, the sharp highlights of reflected snow, the golds of dried grass and the deep greens of the winter trees. The winter light gives it a sharpness and casts a cool hue in the shadows – so much for a painter to play with!

“We can speak without voice to the trees and the clouds and the waves of the sea.

Without words they respond through the rustling of leaves and the moving of clouds and the murmuring of the sea.
