The Honeybee Project:
If Bees are Few...

Over the last couple of years I have been working on a series of paintings of honeybees. As a beekeeper myself, and an ardent admirer of apis mellifera, the European honeybee, I have wanted to share my appreciation of their beauty and their amazing society. Together with 3 other artists, this has grown into the show If Bees are Few... The title refers to Emily Dickenson's poem":
To make a prairie it take a clover and one bee,
   One clover and a bee,
   And revery.
   The revery along will do,
   If bees are few.
