Coastal Forest Reflection
Discovery Islands, BC
60 x 24 in
Oil on canvas

I can’t get enough of painting the reflection of trees along the water’s edge. I love how they offer a door into a mystery – what lies beyond in the forest? Viewed from the water, what hides on the land behind the shore remains a secret.... And the extended verticality of the mirrored image of the trees is such a strong design element – endless possibilities....

“Why do we love the sea? It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think.”
