Crossing to Goose Island
Great Bear Rainforest

36 x 36 in.
Oil on canvas

This image is from our kayak exploration in the Great Bear Rainforest. There is a fairly long and exposed crossing to get to Goose Island. We had good conditions and did the paddle late in the day. I love the feeling of being out in big water, far from land and cupped inside my boat under a huge sky.

“The sky broke like an egg into full sunset and the water caught fire.”
